The genetic diversity of wild apple species is very rich in China, and they have great value of research and utilization. This article summarize and analyze on the natural geographical distribution, polytypism, utilization value and so on of wild apple species based on comprehensive field survey data and literature materials. And then the collection, protection and utilization of wild apples are discussed, our own suggestions are put forward simultaneously.
