    Abstract:

Aluminum (Al) toxicity is a major limiting factor for plant growth and crop production in acid soils. Recently, differential display reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (DDRT-PCR), cDNA- amplified fragment length polymorphisms (cDNA-AFLP), suppression subtrative hybridization (SSH) and DNA microarray have been used widely to analyse plant Al responsive genes. This paper reviewed the recent progresses on plant Al-responsive genes related to transporter, metabolism, stress and cell death and signal transduction.
